Bulwell Councillors Cllr Ginny Klein and Cllr John Hartshorne visited Right Track to celebrate the achievements of two of our apprentices, Sophie Hart and Thomas Armstrong, who won a national award in recognition for their hard work with young people.
During the day Sophie and Tom shared their experiences of being an apprentice at Right Track while outlining their future ambitions with the Councillors, along with the Nottingham Post and Bulwell Dispatch who were also in attendance.
Tom shared that ‘An apprenticeship got me out of trouble, my ambition now is to work my way up’, while Sophie said ‘I’ve always wanted to help people… Young people aren’t given a chance these days. My job has given me a chance’
Sophie and Tom left a lasting impression as Cllr John Hartshorne described them as ‘inspirational’.
The day previously had been spent at the House of Lords to receive their awards after outshining 11,000 other applicants and being the only two apprentices in Nottingham to be selected.
We now hope that Sophie and Tom’s success can influence any potential new apprentices we have to follow their footsteps and on track for a bright future!
