Bestwood Estate Community Centre has been a central part of Bestwood’s community for a number of years and has been taken to new highs by their most recent lead volunteer Sharon Fullerton.

Sharon took charge of the community centre in 2011 and since then has ensured that they are a central hub in the area by providing a range of activities to bring the community together.
During this time Sharon has shown her passion for the local community which has even seen the council hand over a piece of land to the community centre on her insistence.

Despite some of the stress that goes hand in hand with her role, she is very proud to be a part of the community and those who work with her.

“I’ve taken a lot of personal pride in being here and it’s a pleasure to help the local community. I wouldn’t be able to do this on my own, everyone in the building pulls together and supports each other brilliantly!”

Although Sharon recognises the help she has received from others, she did a tremendous job in gaining funding from us at Right Track to develop her social business idea, ‘Feeling Grumpy?’, a community café where people can gain the confidence to find work while enjoying great food and company.

You are welcome to visit the café which is open on the following days and times:

Monday and Tuesday – 8.30am – 1.30pm
Wednesday – 8.30am – 10am
Thursday and Friday – 8.30am – 1.30pm

Sharon and the rest of the Bestwood Estate team are always available to help and support members of their community, to find out more visit their website by clicking here.
