Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity
The aim of this certificate is to give learners an introduction to the issues around stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination, to identify the basic rights that all people should enjoy and the shared values people have and to examine the responsibility each person and organisation has in ensuring that barriers to participation in society are removed. This qualification is applicable to any occupational sector.
Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care
This qualification is designed primarily for individuals working with, or intending to work with vulnerable adults in the health and social care sectors. It is crucial learning for all learners new to the sector.
Level 2 Certificate in Safe Handling of Medicines
This course is designed for those aged 18 and over who wish to develop their understanding of the safe handling of medicines. These may be learners who wish to access this training with a view to progress on to further qualifications or learners who want to study this programme to complement other programmes.
Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Prevention and Control of Infection in Health Care Settings
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above. It is designed for those who are currently working or would like to work within the health and social care sector and provides knowledge that may be applied to a wide range of job roles within health and social care settings.
Level 2 Certificate in Principles of Dementia Care
This qualification aims to assist learners to develop their knowledge and understanding of the principles of caring for those with dementia. It covers areas such as person-centered care, the influence of positive communication methods, issues around the use of medication for those with dementia and the importance of providing appropriate activities. The qualification does not infer competence in the work role but can be used to support the underpinning knowledge and understanding needed for those working in or towards a dementia care role.
Level 2 Certificate in Understanding End of Life Care
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above. It is designed for a wide range of learners who wish to gain an understanding of end of life care.
Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness
This qualification is aimed at learners looking to raise their awareness of mental health and the wide range of mental health conditions.
Level 3 Award in Education and Training
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 and above. The qualification provides an introduction to teaching and aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers such as:
- *Individuals not currently in a teaching or training role
- *Individuals currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training)
- *Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching
Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
This qualification is for learners aged 19 and above. This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in environments other than the workplace (for example a workshop, classroom or other training environment).
Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance Processes and Practice in Assessment
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19 and above. It is intended for those who lead a team of internal quality assurance staff.
Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment
This qualification is for learners aged 19 and above and is intended for assessors who assess occupational competence in an individual’s work environment. It includes the following assessment methods (although not all of these require performance evidence):
- *Observation of performance in the work environment
- *Examining products of work
- *Questioning the learner
- *Discussing with the learner
- *Use of others (witness testimony)
- *Looking at learner statements
- *Recognising prior learning
Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 19+ and is intended for those who maintain the quality of assessment from within an organisation or assessment centre.
