Darren has been working in education, training, and employment services for over 25 years.
Darren’s journey started as a youth worker in Bulwell, Nottingham at the old Club One Youth and Community Centre. Happy days!
Then joined Nottingham City Council for 15 years in various roles including at one point being the Youth Engagement Manager for Nottingham. It was a wonderful time and he thoroughly enjoyed working with all the children, young people, and families that he supported in that period.
After leaving the council Darren worked for several charities including working with homeless young people in Rotherham, also working on community programmes in primary and secondary schools in Leicester and in 2021 he landed a wonderful opportunity at Right Track as their Employability and Volunteer Manager.
This role is based in Bulwell, engages local people to help new parents support their new families, whilst also helping local people into employment. One of the delights of his new role is meeting old and young people (is that even a thing?) from his early days, who are now parents themselves. He truly has come full circle with Bulwell calling him back. His ambition is to help more people into work and help families to become happy, healthy and to thrive.
