Great partnership working secures Manjit a job

I was being made redundant from my previous employer Rolls Royce in July 2020. I met Right Track in July during a Teams session with Futures and I have gone on to study three short courses with Right Track; Level 2 Team Leading, Customer Service and Business Administration. I am also starting a ECDL course with Futures next week to gain further IT qualifications.

I recently attended an interview with Derby City Council and am pleased to say I have been offered a role in the Business Support Team which I will begin in 4th January 2021. I am really looking forward to this next step in my career and feel in a much stronger position to approach the new role with the knowledge I have gained by learning the recent courses I studied with my vocational coach Latoya Centritto who has been very helpful and supported me with my learning.

I look forward to furthering my career within local government. The help, support, was knowledgeable advisers and resources you have access to and the time to listen and understand It is only until you use the service you realise there are lots of things you don’t know and can benefit from.

My advice to anyone considering contacting the service would be to take full opportunity and get some support and advice. It doesn’t matter what your age is, the service can help you to move forward and inspire you. The National Careers Service have really helped me to turn things around for me and helped me to grow my confidence and succeed in finding a new job. Thank you again for helping me on my journey into new employment. I am grateful we have the organisations out there for people like myself to gain confidence and knowledge in seeking future employment.
